Last Day of Vacation

So, today is the last day of my beach vacation and I am trying to make the most of it. Here I am intrepidly driving our rental boat out to the ocean to search for sharks...okay, in reality, I am sitting behind the wheel for the first time, and when I mentioned I was driving, everyone left and took the keys--except for Glenn who stayed to take my picture. I am not much of a sailor and prefer land to water but it is really beautiful here and I wouldn't mind learning to sail--except for the sea sickness part, and the preferring land to water thing and I don't like jellyfish. Oh, never mind, I think a city destination will be on my next vacation agenda. But, I have had a really good time and my winter blues are gone!

Bitter, Sun Kissed is only good at the beach or in an apartment wrapped in faux fur if you 1) like horses 2) like romance novels or 3) have more patience than I do. My sister-in-law, a horse owner and horse lover really enjoyed it and said "it is worth the read as the information about horses was quite realistic and the romance was not at all sappy but complex." Okay, so buy it if you are a lover of equines and romance but not if you are like me, bored by horses (as well as allergic to them) and prefer non-fiction.

Whatever

I am still down here in the Keys wandering around after the sun goes down some. While on one journey, I found this boat that must belong to science fiction writer, John Scalzi. He must really be doing well with his books, Old Man's War, The Ghost Brigades, and The Android's Dream. I guess this NYT's article was right; maybe the blogosphere can promote books and lead to success.
