Why Kris Humphries Should Serve as a Role Model for Men

It's better to die upon your feet than to live upon your knees!- Emiliano Zapata (and others) and later Kris Humphries when talking to wimpy Scott Disick on the Kardashian show "Kourtney and Kim Take New York."
The Kardashian women have taken something else besides New York--the dignity of their men. Have you ever watched this show? I have to admit that I have watched Keeping Up with the Kardashiansfor the past few years but recently, it has become nothing but a disgusting display of female bullying and male groveling, until Kris Humphries came along and decided he wasn't having any of it. Bravo to him! If you have watched the show, you will know that the mother of the show, Kris Jenner, has served as the emasculating matriarch to her Olympic-athlete husband, Bruce Jenner, for years. He puts up with the Kardashian putdowns, insults, and nonsense by avoiding them or playing golf. The only comforting thing about Jenner is that he is quite rich on his own, and is probably just playing along for the show. Or maybe this isn't comforting at all, since he has fallen from Olympic-hero to hen-pecked, overlooked husband with no input into his family's life with all the world watching. Then there is Scott Disick who originally looked like the poster-child bad-boy who trained under Roissy on how to treat women. He ignored his girl-friend Kourtney, ran around, drank and was full of anger. Then after Kourtney had their son Mason, he starts to "settle down." Could he have learned to be a better partner? Yes, of course, but with some backbone. Now, he is banished to his own room to look at porn while Kourtney prances around with their two-year old son. He gets no sex, sleeps alone and spends his days on Kourtney and Kim Take New York telling Kris Humphries not to do anything to agitate the girls. For example, on a recent show, Kim and Kourtney are heading to LA for business and tell the guys they are not allowed to have anyone in the hotel suite. Kris wanted to relax and have friends over for a party but he was told that no one was allowed to be there while they were away. Kim and Kourtney had spent the previous weeks filling the house up with women, friends and a naked male yoga instructor. Kris was disgusted but no one cared. Kris finally cared enough about himself to get out of this marriage (though it apparently was Kim who filed for divorce) and fought back to boot. Kim had tried to tell him where he would live, how he would live and how he would dress and behave. Yes, Kris, it is better to die on your feet than live on your knees. I just wish there were other men in bad relationships who had the nerve to stand up to the women in their lives the way that you did.

The ONLY thing you can do with women like that is to leave them.

You are absolutely not going to win any battle for control.

I don't understand why so many men put up with so much humiliation from so many women in American society. But there you have it. I guess they are masochists deep down.

I was just talking about Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries yesterday. I'm in love with these two people. What did they do? They got married and 72 days later they saw the light, realized they both enjoyed being far apart from each other and living their own lives the way they want to live. Subsequently they decided not to bow to anyone's pressure even after the $18 million dollar wedding and got as far away from each other as possible.

But the real interesting part of the story is that millions, if not billions of people are mad at them for not trying to "make it work". Kim and Kris were smart enough to see the writing on the wall, it's the angry mobs that have a loose screw.

One more thing, when Kris Jenner met Bruce Jenner he was broke and deeply in debt. She's a savvy marketer and through shear chutzpah got him a bunch of motivational speaking gigs. During those early years of his speaking career I remember being in attendance at one of them. Bruce Jenner is reasonably entertaining. I'm not that big of a fan of Kris Jenner, but credit where credit is due.

Cham,

Agreed abour Kris Jenner being a savvy marketer. However, she should treat her husband better.

christ cham, it's tv. those shows are designed to get a reaction.

not only do those shows have no bounds, but they send women signals do be destructive toward men in general.

much like two and a half men, which strangely enough appeals to some women (my step-daughter).

The only difference between the Kardashians and your stereotypical redneck trailer park queen is the trailer.

and further cham, if you believe those two twits actually got married in the old-fashioned i-love-you-forever kind of way you need to take a get real pill.

the whole thing was a circus designed to sell whatever that armenian whore was selling.

that humphries guy should have had more self-respect than to have gotten caught up in that whirlwind and stuck to his sport.

Not only did Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian know it wasn't an "I love you forever" marriage but so did everyone else.

There are many many marriages that happen every day that are pure business deals. Both parties can do something for each other by getting married. It's the entire marriage industry: wedding planners, caterers and the media that is pretending marriage is something other than it is.

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries simply put their cards on the table, that's all. This was a show for the paying public. They're both going to be laughing all the way to the bank.

The simple solution would be not to marry her in the first place.

She isn't worth 50%. She certainly isn't deserving of presumptive paternity. She's got a bad attitude. So why marry her?

She offered me sex. That's all she has to offer me. So I had sex with her. I'm done.

She can buy her own house. It's that simple.

That's not precisely true, but it is the technique useful for keeping you out of jail.

I've never seen this television show, but I have heard about some of the people on it.

Bruce Jenner always has some half-eye-open arrogant look. Don't know why he's so important - he did something in the Olympics decades ago, so I guess that excuses him being a dick.

Kardashian: I think it was the father who was a major player in the OJ Simpson murder trial. There were rumors that he had helped OJ get rid of his bloody clothes. His solution: Get registered quick-quick as an attorney (he had apparently gone to law school but never worked as an attorney), and then hide behind attorney-client privilege.

The rest of them: Scummy reality-show-type people, as far as I can tell. I don't know why people watch these types of shows.

Actually, for Humphries to be the role model I recommend, he wouldn't have gotten involved with Kardashian to start with. And, if he did, he would have bedded her a few times and then unexpectedly walked away without looking back.

what the media has managed successfully to do is glamourize sexual impropriety and marriage-for-profit, which appeals to particularly fu;cked up people and sends a powerful signal that, to be rich and famous, is to be this fu;cked up.

strippers and male prostitutes oh my.

I don't understand how anyone could be the least bit interested in anything Kardashian.

But I guess not many would understand why I prefer to watch Cash Cab or Jeopardy or How Things Are Made.
