So far I haven't needed pacing or such. Even if they didn't find my heart problem until it was in the final stage of failure, I don't have irregular heart beats or any of the other problems often associated with having a bad heart. But I sure like to know what is going on with the technology. It sounds icky, no matter. And a bit spooky.
You have a pacemaker, don't you? Was the surgery pretty rough? I am not sure I trust to let them, if needed, do that. But a rough time might convince me. I guess for being in really bad shape I am healthy as a horse somehow. Well, on to my 20 mile run!

Doom,
I have an ICD and it's been the best thing that has happened since I had my heart attack. The initial surgery is a little difficult, but not much. Some people I know seemed to have very little trouble having it placed. All I can say is thank goodness for modern medicine.
