Is Mel Insane?

Sorry Mel, the psychodrama only seems to work as an excuse if you are a woman.

The best treatment of this whole Gibson flapdoodle that I have heard was from Jackie Mason. He said it on the Keith Oberman show, I heard it on the Laura Ingram show. (I saw Ober on a talk show recently, so stiff he almost broke.) Jackie's point is that what he said was awful and that he was drunk and people say crazy things when they are drunk. Sometimes those statements are examples of vino veritas and sometimes they are drunk mutterings.

For the record, what I have heard of what Mel said is antisemitic tripe. I appreciate that what he said is being crucified (heh heh) and I will reserve judgment on him until after he has had time to sober up, do his rehab, and get his thoughts together. But it does not look pretty and while I have been drunk I have never said anything racist while drunk. Not that I am without unfair attitudes about race, gender, and ethnicity, but I am not proud of them and they are not so pressing as to come out in my sleep or when I was drunk. I gave up getting drunk when I left college.

Jesus! Nothing like seeing your name at the top of a blog to wake you up. Yes, I am insane, but apparently, I'm one of the happy kinds.

Mel's biggest mistake is that he did not convert to Islam years ago.

Had a Moslem said what he said, it would've blown over by now.

Ouchy. Stingin' with welts ouchy. Truth being hurty and suchlike.

(Gonna have to quote that one. I'd attribute if it wasn't anonymous.)

Insane? No.

Opinionated? Yes.*

Shrewd? Very. The rehab and counseling with the ADL is a groveling rescue attempt for his prospects in Jewish controlled Hollywood. (Whether it's objectively true or not, Mel probably thinks so.)

* Opinions are like @$$holes; everyone has one...however, don't offer your opinion or your @$$hole up too freely. LOL

Several years ago Marlon Brando was on Larry King live an uttered serveral anti-semitic remarks and not a word was uttered in criticism. While we can't condone excessive alcholism and ant-semitic remarks, it is quite clear that Mel is facing the present scrutiny solely due to the 'Passion'. It is also ironic that the day before the news broke, a muslim man, an engineer no less, entered a synagogue in Seattle and opened fire on 6 women. One was pregnant and one died from her wounds. Yet, the story died. Humm, I wonder why? As far as 'anti-semitic' remarks, is it too rash to say that not all remarks uttered against Jews are anti-semitic? Surely there must be some Jews or some issues one could justly critize? Apparently not. Well, I will venture to say one thing that I know will engender some ill-will. Keep in mind however, it is the topic that will engender ill-will and the fact that I simply utter it. I do not deny the holocaust but what sickens me is that it (holocaust) seems to be the exclusive "shoah" memory of the Jews. Did not gypsies, Poles, Nuns, Priests, etc die in the holocaust? People seem to forget this as easily as the fact that the Nazi regime was far LEFT WING----not right. As I have said, I do not deny the holocaust but I will sustain the memory of the others who died since it is quite apparent the plurality will not.

Wait a minute here. Nobody seems to notice the fact that if Mel was a woman, he could get away with it.
