Male voters and rural voters didn't vote for him anyway.

People who don't bother to vote should stay home and shut up.

By definition, "voters" are people who DO bother to vote.

Oh, well, if it's just the testosterone-crazed, the crackers, and people who think for themselves, the Obamessiah has nothing to worry about.

My cousin is big on only property owners being allowed to vote. I see his point, but can't really agree.

I could be persuaded that people who are on welfare lose their vote, but then what about people who are physically disabled, really disabled.

Something could be done, but it is difficult for me to think of a way to make sure that loafers cannot tax the producers into oblivion.

But something needs to be done or people will start aiming to misbehave.

Oh, that's fairly easy. Allow people to opt out of jury duty, but in doing so they also surrender the right to vote. We might be surprised at the number of people who'll go for that deal.

As if we aren't already providing enough artificial incentives to buy houses. If this comes to pass I see some nice business opportunities. Buy a cheap acre of land and sell it in 1 sq ft plots. Instant land owners! Commemorative plaques for a small extra fee.

Proportional representation in the House of Representatives. Then the Libertarians would get their 20% representation. Heck the Greens would get their 5%. Both Rep and Dem parties would thin down as the more extreme members move to more focused parties. They each may even find a platform that means something.

Well, time to put the pipe down and get back to work. I don't want my vote taken away for loafing.

I think you'd find that a large number of people who make a decent hourly rate would opt out. "Loafers" have nothing better to do so would opt-in. Now you have both the political and justice system populated by "loafer" ideals.

Well that depends. If you're an optimist then voting provides an illusion that you have some amount of control.

If you're a pessimist then voting results let you know what group is going to screw you over for the next term so you can plan appropriate damage control.

the illusion of control...you`ve hit the nail on the head.

i do niether, i just plan damage control regardless.

god of bacon`s position is one of voters rights and that illusion of involvement, control and choice...but the fact remains that government bureaucracy swells and deficits head for that romantic trillion dollar figure and our lot changes not one iota as a consequence of voting, debating, watching crossfire or going to rallies and aruing face-to-face with the opposition`s voters themselves.

there is nothing more pathetic than the look on the face of a voter seeing his or her candidate get voted onto office....you would think thier own child was being voted in.

i can`t even be bothered to say wake up. it does no good.

Men don't like Obama. Women do. Men are net taxpayers. Women are net tax consumers. Obama is proposing huge tax increases. I leave you to form your own conclusion.
