So use a kid - or an imaginary kid - to get stuff in life and manipulate people.

That's not a new idea.

She isn't doing it right. There are women who are getting $30,000 per month (tax free!) in child support for one child.

That's milking it a lot more than just getting some peace and quiet.

Noise at 2AM from a bar is something of which I am familiar. Mr. Alkin should be calling both the liquor board and the police. Let the police deal with the problem, the police can convince the bouncers at the bar to do their job. The liquor board can revoke the bar's license if their are too many complaints. Talking to the drunk noise-making patrons is a big waste of breath.

....count on it. Especially if the majority of complaints are coming from just one person/residence.

P.S. BUT....

....it MIGHT be a good idea to get a camcorder to record the activity/noise and use THAT as evidence....

Fire a few gunshots in the air without being seen. Everyone will blame the drunks.

Fire a few gunshots in the air without being seen. Everyone will blame the drunks. -- Gaod Of Bacon

....better make sure you:

[1] Displace from your normal residence before doing that.
[2] Make sure there are not witnesses that can testify against you.

Regards,

Chuck(le)
P.S. You MIGHT lob some firecrackers into their midst, instead. Again from a place not your normal residence.

The sound of gunfire will prompt other neighbors to call the police. This inspires a general fear of the bar, possibly leading to forfeiture of license. Unlike the proper methods of dealing with the problem, this doesn't make you a target of harrassment.

What a great idea. Lets just fire off a few shots in a residential neighborhood.

What could go wrong?

GOB - not exactly a smart idea. Chucks idea is much better (safer too).

All the best,

RE: I Don't Know....

....where you live or what ordinances there are, but where I live discharge of a fire-arm without reasons relating to protecting someone's life is a crime. And if you're caught or ratted out, it's not very much 'fun'.

The papers will be full of stories about YOU and not about the noisy bar.

Then, as The Archivist points out, if you discharge into the air, you don't know WHERE the round is going to land.

If you discharge into the ground, you leave evidence as to where the shots were fired and something the police can use to trace the rounds back to you.

Regards,

Chuck(le)

Bravo to Amy Alkon!

There is no duty of honesty towards obnoxious drunks, and I love her creative approach to solving the problem.
