Apparently not to Professor Wendy Doniger who teaches at the University of Chicago’s Divinity School who states about Palin:
I have read a lot of whacky things in the media about Palin but to deny someone's biology based on political beliefs that disagree with your own is definitely out there. Fortunately, other women feel the same. Here is a good response to this diatribe from a commenter named Kelly:
What is amazing to me is how many liberal gender feminists think that they know what is best for all women, just because they have a womb. Maybe it's time they woke up and realized that the women of America are not buying the crap they're peddling.
Her greatest hypocrisy is in her pretense that she is a woman. The Republican party's cynical calculation that because she has a womb and makes lots and lots of babies (and drives them to school! wow!) she speaks for the women of America, and will capture their hearts and their votes, has driven thousands of real women to take to their computers in outrage. She does not speak for women; she has no sympathy for the problems of other women, particularly working class women.

I hate to drop this bomb on this idiot, but if you have a vagina you are a real woman. That includes even this moron. Just because a person does not agree with your political views, especially abortion on demand, that does not excommunicate them from their biology. Being a woman is a biological fact. However, being an individual trapped in their own political dogma frothing at the mouth about any woman who does not agree with them is simply deranged. It is amazing how one attractive, intelligent woman with conservative views has set the feminist crones spinning. I sit back and enjoy the show. Although abortion is the holy grail of the feminist crones, the majority of American women don't vote on a singal issue, such as myself. I believe in abortion in certain instances but it is not my singular issue and does not decide my vot. The feminists are revealing their blood lust for the murder of unborn children anywhere anytime for any reason. Keep it up feminist, we women of the heartland are watching and we are not approving.

Now Tennessee congressman Steve Cohen is saying that Obama is a community organizer like Jesus and Governor Palin is a governor like Pontius Pilate. As a Jew, Steve should know better than bringing up bigoted "Christ killer" garbage.
These folks are quite unhinged, and the garbage they are spewing may speak to their most rabid base, but the people with some sense are taking note and changing their voting intentions.

The entire Democratic platform has devolved to this: The nation must redistribute its resources to help single working mothers. Everything else is peripheral to this singular goal. Any man, and most women, who think that the Democratic Party has the slightest interest in helping them is sadly mistaken. The single working mother is their patron saint -- never mind that getting pregnant and usually getting divorced was her unilateral decision. The Democrats insist that you and I have some obligation to her even over our own kids, our own wives, our own parents and our own retirement. I mean, since when did "health care" become the overriding problem in America -- worse than the turmoil in the inner city; worse than crime; worse than the threat of terrorism? In fact, it didn't. It's a code word for the the Dem's overarching policy goals, and single working mothers are at the heart of it.
History has shown that Democrats are at least as likely as Republicans to make war (perhaps to dispel fears that they aren't sufficiently macho), and the Iraq war is winding down anyway (with a favorable outcome most likely). So the war is a red herring (unless the goal is to punish McCain for backing it -- but remember Hillary backed it, too).
Windfall profit tax on oil? The price of oil will skyrocket, and Obama won't do it.
I want a party in power that cares about all Americans and doesn't marginalize my interests just because I pay a lot of taxes.
The icing on the cake is that she ends her little assassination piece by asserting that separation of church and state is in the "mother-lovin' Constitution".
Uh, no it ain't lady.
Another trope that has reared it's head again during the Palin dust up is the contention that pro-lifers "are against stem cell research". I.e. she is inconsistent because she has a child with Downs syndrome, but would oppose some hypothetical research that could help him or others like him.
This is a purposeful distortion, as most pro-life people have no objection to adult stem cell research; they only want to ban embryonic stem cell research. The GOP needs to do a better job of making this distinction clear to the public IMO.
I often, wonder, actually, whether a woman is a woman if she doesn't have children (barring a physical disability or other actual inability)? If you don't use it, and for what it was intended, do you lose it, or at least any claim to it? It backfires quite nicely as well, and, I'll take that too.
I still think it is quite the thing that the woman who is the perfect feminist cannot be considered a woman because, well, because she is a living functional feminist (and her personal life seems to bear out the problems with the feminist regime, though in these days, it is not exclusive). It is still sort of cute and fuzzy. Call me an crazy, but the humor is not to missed and should be adored.
Oh, about stem cell research, embryonic particularly but adult as well, another part of the debate is that people do not want government involvement (funding) in that. If it is not commercially viable on it's own merits, as with Picken's socialist adds of late, why should we be forced to pay for an improbable "solution"? If they want to carve up babies, let them go to Europe. I can think of other places to send them, but that is a little piece of it right here on Earth, and they are well on their way in any case.
See, leftist academics will try to convinve you that "gender is a social construct",and "poverty is an act of violence perpetrated upon the poor by the wealthy".

But others have covered most of the things I would have mentioned, and as a tired, old male I am left with "what the hell do they want?!??"
I worked at a University, and the manifest inability of the academics to assembly a logical though is truly scary, working with students (I was "staff") who were having their ability to reason destroyed was and is depressing.
Misinformation of the strangest kinds in the weirdest topics! (My area was University computers, networks and stuff. "Workstudies" who quoted professors arguing with me about how networks work--"servers' names MUST start with 'www'"!!!)
Funny, but if I wanted to make the case the Wendy Doniger is not a "real woman," I certainly could write something that sounds plausible.
In Darwinian terms, one exists in no small part to pass on one's genes. Men do it in one way, and women in another. But in no uncertain terms, the genes must be passed on to be a success in an evolutionary point of view.
Women such as Doniger who look down on women who get pregnant and would be willing to cancel out their own reproductive success by killing their unborn children are failures by this measure.
They are not real women QED.
See, that wasn't so tough. And it sounds more believable than Doniger. Goes to show that BSing isn't that hard, and that what passes for scholarship these days in non-scientific fields is largely feces.
You'd think a college professor would have a better grasp of simple biology. Despite all the efforts of the "tolerant" crowd's gender-bending, XX = woman and XY = man.
The best part of all this is that thanks to this election, my teenage daughter is getting a good look at the "academics" and feminists she's about to join when she starts college next year. She's disgusted and will be far less susceptible to the party line delivered by some unhinged leftist professor.

Academicians are as bad as fundamentalists in some ways—they believe that acknowledging the effects of genes somehow kills our free will.
Yet, the "professor" of "womyns studies" calls for out and out genetic determinism (nay, demands it!) over free will in her unhinged spewing about Sarah Palin. Collectivist bigots all.
I'm surprised we haven't yet seen anybody slamming Palin for suffering from false consciousness. She's married with kinds, for goodness sake. How could any woman suffer such oppression?

Current day feminism seems to be all about abortion on demand, and government entitlements/programs for women. In the early days it was called the "Women's Liberation" movement. There's not much liberation in being tied to the government for support, special protections and such.
Doniger complains about people pushing religion down others' throats and then proceeds to try and push her version of "how it should be" down our throats.
Feminists are making a good argument for the old, sexist claim that women aren't rational. :-)

Tis far better to see them going than it was to see them coming, and they were young and pretty then, or had that potential. Wrinkled leftwit prunes are nothing that will be missed, perhaps not even noticed in their passing. Gender feminists see Palin the same as poverty pimps and race hustlers (e.g. Jesse Jackson) see Obama. Palin doesn't toe the line with the gender feminists' dogma: she is happily married and has children, she doesn't whine about being a victim, and she has achieved a lot in life without depending on the feminists. Horrors! If she can do it, so can others. Who'd need the feminists (or race hustlers) then? Palin represents a threat to the feminists' interests so she must be destroyed.
Feminists have the monumental arrogance to claim they speak for all women, just as race hustlers claim to speak for racial minorities. The US population is a bit over 300 million, so there are over 150 million females in the country ranging from infants to the very old. To claim that the only "real women" are the ones who agree with the feminists is simply stupid.

Feminists often proclaim women who deviate from the feminist agenda " female impersonators" because they think anyone who is female and normal MUST agree with the feminist agenda----------because
feminist views are innate and natural-- the only way for a woman to not be a feminist is for her not to be a woman at all-- or be so confused that she doesn't see the self-evident nature of feminist ideology.
B. Blacks, less so in the last 20 years, also see other blacks who deviate form liberal ideology as " Uncle Toms" or mired in "self-hate".
Both feminist and ( many )blacks see their self-interests as a gender/ as a race as so obvious and self-evident, that one must simply not be a member of their gender/race if one doesn't agree.
Both women and blacks also typically base their political views primarily on issues of group self-interest.
A liberal may call a conservative man an idiot for being a conservative, but he doesn't exclude him from the class of men, except when in engaged in hostile hyperbole.

Also,Carolyn Graglia tore Hoff-Sommers to pieces in her unusual book " Domestic Tranquility", showing how de Beauvior (1950, The Second Sex) and Friedan ( 1963 or so, The Feminine Mystique ) had all the ingredients of bad ole "gender feminism". Hoff-Sommers heaps praise on Friedan, whose book literally stated that being a housewife is akin to being brain-damaged or in a concentration camp.
Feminism is now, and has always been, a hate movement whose writings cannot withstand even minimal intellectual or moral scrutiny. There is no good and bad feminism , like there is no good and bad racism or Nazism.
I might also add that many Jews also see Jews who deviate from the pro-Isreal line as mired in "self-hate"-- see the work of norman Finkelstein ( Beyond Chutzpah, 2005, 2008 and The Holocasut Industry,2000 and 2003).
Hence feminists, many blacks and many Jews seem to base their politics/agendas primarily on group self-interest-- dissidents are simply denied membership in the gender or race ! Indentity Politics on steroids.
Od course one may claim these groups are the victims of historic wrongs and that policies to address /redress these wrongs are obvious...

I know people like this professor. There is no way to reason with them. They are completely mired in circular logic. What they believe is true because it's true. Seriously, you can't get past that in an argument with them. And it's not sophistry on their part, or "these are my beliefs and I'm sticking to them," in which case I could at least admire their tenacity. But they *don't* see the flaws in their argument. And if you spell it out for them, they move on to Phase II in the Parade of Fallacies--the ad hominem. It's stunning and depressing.
Let;s see only Blacks who labor on the liberal plantation are "real" African-Americans; and, only those women in the liberal harem are "real" women. Curious, liberal men do not say this about conservative men - yet. So, by liberal logic - so far - only men can be liberal or conservative and remain real men.

I've seen a chain-mail going around from a pair calling themselves "Women against Palin" or some similar name.
They include in their list of stupid reasons why she doesn't support the True Values And Rights Of Women As Such (while they, the authors evidently do), that she opposes gun control.
The relation of vaginas to gun control is opaque at best to most of us.
My tendency is to suppose that the sex that is statistically smaller and weaker is best off facing a criminal class that ignores gun control laws by ... being armed and defending themselves, rather than being disarmed, passive victims.
Legal armament removes the power disparity between male and female; one would imagine that especially gender feminists would see armament for women as an unalloyed good.
But that's just me, and what can I know? After all, I lack a uterus.

Some liberal women don't believe anyone should take responsibility for their own self-defense, unless it's to cold-cock a guy at a bar who might be looking at them the wrong way. Guns are nasty stuff to them because they do not want to think about the possibility of having to really defend themselves or someone else--the state should take care of that. It should be done in a tidy way that does not offend their sensiblities or make them feel guilty in any way.
After trying to wade through Doniger's comments on Sarah, I went to the U. of Chicago website to learn more about her other writings to see if I could get a clue about her.
Well, I think her novel in progress entitled "Horses for Lovers, Dogs for Husbands" pretty much sums it up. A Freudian would have a field day with this woman!

Urhm, no. Jews who are not for Israel are against Israel. And, yes, that is self-hate. It is a common affliction, but an affliction none the less. An end to Israel would be through the death of millions of Jews. The end of quotas and "equality" (of outcome) would NOT be the death of women or blacks. Nice try, Slick Willy. Actually, I think you illustrate the point. Anything goes as long as one believes, in nothing. Especially self loathing. It is a condition to hate yourself from fear of history. All it will, probably, take to get you over that is to be at a bus stop, waiting on a family member, and to only find pieces of them. Of course, that could drive you further into self loathing. With Obama, you might get the chance without ever moving.
