You can see on my sidebar that I decided to update my blog with a few new pictures that Glenn took in our podcast studio that we recently built in our basement. I am wearing red pajamas and sitting by some of our new podcast equipment .....how lame is that? Am I just a nerdy stereotype of a blogger? Oh, well, at least it is my basement and not my parents'.

DrHelen,

I thought you were good looking before, but now I know you are a very attractive woman!

I always enjoy reading your point of view. We may not always agree (mostly we do, actually), but I always find your thoughts of value.

We have a whole society that seems to focus on speaking out when things aren't good. That is as it should be. But we don't speak out enough when things are good, I think. In particular, we don't seem to tell people that we appreciate their hard work sufficiently.

So thanks again for the time and trouble you go to, that allows us a forum with you and each other.

Obernai,

Yes, it is fun. I love working with Glenn to produce the podcasts and giving our guests a platform to put out their ideas, whether popular or not.

Eric Blair,

Thanks for taking the time to listen, read, and give feedback to us.

Oh, but the black and white one was such a nice shot!

Don't think of the PJs as stereotypical. Think of them as traditional. Sounds much better.

Yes! The great expression: "a new tradition!"

Speaking of your parents, I suppose they would be even more upset than your husband if you put hand-wash-only cookware in the dishwasher...

Triticale,

Yes, I saw that at Instapundit, how much longer before he tells you more of my horrible secrets. I must admit that I have been a pot destroyer for quite some time. We have only dishwasher safe cookware and dishes in the house.

Dear Dr. Helen:

Do remember Rule #16 of Cohabitation: the more you know how to do, the more you have to do.

We have all read about many of Dr. Reynolds' fine recipes and meals. I say that you should continue to devastate cookware and thus continue to induce him to cook!

Most husbands use this rule---you are smart enough/married well enough to reverse the stereotype!

Seriously, if the worse that you do is destroy the occasional skillet---well, that is doing darned well in any marriage.

Congratulations!

Why didn't that idiot say, "Sitting at home blogging in their lacy red teddies?"

Dammit.

The black and white head shot was so beautiful! It showed your curly hair.

The new one is very sophisticated. I don't know about you, but the best photos of myself have been taken by my husband. It must be their love coming through the lense or something...Corny or what??

Glenn did a great job.

Great blog!

I did not realize I was watching you every week on the TV show "House".

I thought the woman who plays Dr. Cuddy was named Lisa something, but now I know it is really Dr. Helen!!

Where did you get those pajamas? Make and model, please! Presuming they're comfortable and all that.

Dr Helen,
Very nice pictures. I liked the old black & white face as well, but these are better. Now for social commentary. It feels good to be able to say to a woman that she looks good, without fear of getting sued! I work in government, and always refrain from paying too many compliments to the ladies.

Ooops, I see your new picture has already been the source of some haggling and word spilling*, so consider my comments in the above spot superfluous. Although I should note I was speaking about your new photo to the left of your minibio and not the one in the pajamas (which is still pretty damned cool).

My favorite is still the one where you're looking to the right and smirking all sexy-like**...come to think of it, how very appropriate.

Ok, I have to ask- were those pearls real? And what color was the dress? And where's the rest of the picture?

*- No, I will not make a joke here. Even I can't stoop that low.

**- I know, you can't say those things. And yet, I'm not sorry.

The pajama's are a red pair from Jone's New York and should be available at most department stores; I got mine at Belk. They are very comfortable and easy to wash etc.
