The Barrister at Maggie's Farm blog: "Authoritarian Leftism is a sickness, and as evil as sociopathy. Maybe it is a form of sociopathy. I don't know. These people need to learn a little humility...and a few other things too."

Something I'm noticing more and more is that authoritarian left-wingers want to get self-righteously frothed up. Even if they have to use a contrived situation or straw man to do it.

If you read the radical feminist sites, for example, they find some news article about a woman being wronged in some way (and the Patriarchy not caring), and then they stretch it and manipulate it and exaggerate it into a thing of pure horror.

Then they all rail against it, and against the Evil Patriarchy (and by extension men) that promotes these horrors.

Wash, rinse, repeat and then do it all over again.

This same pattern is followed with any minority group that the hard-core left-wingers consider the underdog. Sometimes it's downright delusional.

JG, some of them are delusional and some of the others will not let the truth get in the way of their agenda.

I think we can say that Authoritatianism is the trouble, the left and right part of it matter very little.

Authoritarianism and humility are simply incompatible concepts. In order to exert authority, one has to believe that he has some degree of superiority, and that is inherently at odds with humility.

This does not put patriarchy at odds with humility. Patriarchy is based on humbly accepting the responsibility for the family group, the responsibility of leadership. It accepts only the barest minimum of authority required to make the final decisions after considering the needs and desires of the whole family.

I've seen people that I would categorize as being on the right who also engage in the behavior I've described. The white supremecists do an almost mirror image of it (with different villains and heros) and fundamental Christians have their own ways of being authoritarian and judgmental.

Maybe it is a form of sociopathy.

No maybe about it. Consider the grandiose sense of self, pathological lying, lack of remorse, shame or guilt, etc.

Or, goes on to assume a totalitarian air and become suppressive as all hell with little or no concern except for self. Lived under it, know it exists.

...No. what we need is a batch of singing statements via Bush under a begin democratic right of center govt.
Allen is a humorist and to take him with this seriousness tells me more about you than him. Allen molested the woman? Were police charges filed? oh, right, she was over the age of consent.

Now. Think for a moment: if the left did not exist, what would yiou have to say and write about over and over?
Let's dump[ all that the left of center brought about, beginning with the G.I. Bill and then insuring our bank accounts and on and on...we would be so much better off, righ?

Makes one wonder how bad things would have to get before fred would begin to entertain condemning anything considered left wing. What Allen did is morally reprehensible. The Servicemen's Readjustment Act of 1944 had plenty of Republican support. Warren H. Atherton, a Republican, is known at the "Father of the G.I.Bill" along with Ernest W. McFarland, a Democrat. Edith Nourse Rogers, R-Mass helped write and co-sponsored the G.I. Bill. Harry W. Colmery, former RNC chairman, wrote the first draft of the G.I. Bill.

Remember, pathological lying is a sympton of being a sociopath. You're fitting the profile quite well here.

What's the difference between an ethical man and a moral man? An ethical man knows it's wrong to cheat on his wife. A moral man won't cheat on his wife.
