I have a column up at PJM about Obama's all-male athletic outings:

How is watching the president play golf going to protect my income from unreasonable taxation due to national health care, reduce the number of dead US soldiers/month in Iraq/Afghanistan or help a father maintain custody of his children?
This seems like an incredibly bad case of taking your eye off the ball IMO.
And he wasn't even playing at Augusta National.
So far, in 9 months, The One has played golf more than W did in his first 3 years combined. This is in addition to sundry other vacations. Anyone remember what was said about W regarding such things?
No, didn't think so.
In another angle on the story, the very notion of such a complaint made me laugh so hard and so long that I was in danger of driving off the road just after hearing it on the news.
I hope he plays more golf. Lots more. I wish he would play a round a day. Golf is a game of honesty and character, and everyone can use honesty and character practice. Also, playing golf limits the mischeif he can do to important things like the Constitution and our economy.

isn`t golf like any other game in regard to honesty and character?
games are structured by the participants themselves and so would be represented by the characters of the players as much as the pre-existing game.
though certainly when anyone is playing golf they are less likely to be interfering elsewhere.
the chocolate messiah will play his games wherever he goes, and the article in discussion exemplifies his attitude...which is, do as i say, not as i do...which i think is helen`s point.
to clarify; in meta-analysis using a mcluanesque frame. the game of golf could be seen as the ground state for the game that obama is playing, which is me and the boys f**king the dog...as opposed to walking the dog, which is an old aerosmith song and a particular favorite of mine.
"isn`t golf like any other game in regard to honesty and character?"
I am not familiar with other sports in which you are honor bound and expected to penalize yourself when you commit an infraction.

oh, i see. never played much golf. though it does keep greenspace from condo developers....
I'd bet that when Obambi plays golf all of his entourage makes sure he looks good, at their own expense.
Not a big deal to me, but Hillary sure got the shaft on this deal, I almost feel sorry for her.
The more golf he plays, the less other harm he does. I would favor him taking 1/2 the congress with him on these outings.
Huh? Must we choose our friends according to a demographic profile?
Sure, he's president. Why should he not play golf with whoever he damn well pleases?
