Miss Helen, I respectfully submit that you wouldn't fit into that slice of California, period. 8-)
I hope the youngster is successful beyond his wildest dreams. I'm kinda tired of all the blue language, myself. Gets in the way of anything resembling a good conversation.
Apparently they have several Democrats in charge, so is this an example of liberal fascism? I think if I was on the council I would have to vote against this measure and I don't even swear much!
I don't know if Democrats made this change or not. Seems to be to be an infringement of freedom of speech although from what I could gather from the article, the only penalty for cursing is a shameful look from the community. I certainly would vote against such a measure. You can't legislate proper speech and frankly, a good cursing out might be appropriate for some of the townspeople who approve of this type of curtailment on the first amendment.
sometimes, swearing can be good, imagine dropping a brick on your foot, and you saying, "oh deary me, i seem to have dropped a heavy brick on my foot, i am in a lot of pain", instead of 1 word ;-)

What the f*** is wrong with that little pr***?!!

I always thought that where you cuss and who you cuss around is more salient than if you cuss at all.

What happened to the concept that the education level of a person could be determined by when/if they cursed?

Oh, the dreaded shameful look! The horror of it all!
Most likely response: "What are YOU looking at, a$$hole? You got a problem?"
Major-general,
So if one curses, does that mean they have a high or low education level? Because I haven't graduated 6th grade if it's the latter.
You know, they told me that if George Bush was re-elected our right to free speech would be curtailed. And they were right!

I guess none of them has ever had to work on a computer, or change a tire.
Funny that the title of the video being promoted next to the article has the word "dongs" in it.
Maybe it's just me.
Where's R. Lee Ermey when you need him?
