When we know all of their records/past and we can't help but know what they offer today on every issue, there's just no reason in listening any further. Pathetically, many still do not even know their records;

Our current situation is such that presidential elections are no longer being reported or treated with the dignity they deserve and we wind up with very much less than dignified candidates...but, we know how this has transpired also;

Turnaround? I thought the Republican have had control over the White House for 7 years now.

Republicans have controled the White House for 7 years, but Conservatives? Well that's another story.

Mitt will bring both sides of economic conservatism to the office of President. Lower taxes and lower, restrained spending. President Bush failed on the second one.

I am glad to be able to stand with Mitt Romney for Conservative leadership in Washington.

Gun owners in MA aren't so sure that Romney will keep that anti-gun control pledge. But then again, I suppose they qualify as a "battered spouse" in the gun owning crowd. http://www.goal.org/romneyrecord.htm

Someone who understands economics. On this ground alone he sounds like a solid second choice to Ron Paul. The dems just want higher taxes and more regulations. McCain, in his own words, doesn't understand law, the constitution or economics. He is a rudderless, mentally unstable career politician and I think he would probably do more damage to the country than any of the other candidates.

Ditto what Jim w said: Romney's pro-market and pro-freedom. Crazy Cousin John is pro-government.

But I'll give Crazy Cousin John this much: At least he admits he doesn't know anything about economics, which is more than can be said for that pinhead populist Huckabee.

Huckabee is a gifted communicator, but he needs to spend at least four years reading Mises, Hayek, Friedman and Sowell.

I think that we are much more likely to have bad economic legislation on the president's desk than gun control legislation.

The dems learned a lesson in pain in the 90s and I doubt they are in any rush to repeat it. Kerry learned that calling yourself a hunter doesn't give you cart blanche to ban guns. People don't view guns as hunting implements or sports equipment. This is the same calculus that has driven ruger to produce carry pistols. Guns for self defense is solidly in the mainstream. And yes, this is good news for Heller.

Helen,
I fell fast asleep. I'm sure that is not a fair commentary on your interview with Mitt, though. I realy wanted to hear what he answered on your question about Ann Coulter supporting Hillary if McCain wins. Oh well, sleeping through the next eight years might not be the worst possibility.

Mean enough? Are you serious?

Mitt Romney has displayed depraved indifference towards human suffering, when a medical marijuana patient asked him if he'd continue the federal government's unconstitutional interference in states that have legalized marijuana for medical use.

Romney is an empty suit, and if the Republicans nominate him, they can kiss the white house goodbye.

You mistakenly assume that Huckabee cares about anything other than power. He's not running to help us, he's running to help himself.

HAH!

Thanks man, that's the biggest laugh I've had today.

I really do not understand Romney's appeal and I have five tough questions for him:

1) Are you a conservative?
2) Does it bother you that Planned Parenthood and the Log Cabin Republicans have accused you of being a flip-flopper?
3) Have you ever held a hunting license?
4) Why did you wait until a few weeks before you left office to allow local officials to crack down on illegal immigration, knowing full well that your successor would overturn it?
5) Massachusetts had a poor economy while you were governor with high taxes and low job growth, what would you do differently so the national economy would be successful?

What especially irks me is how we are expected to just close our minds and vote according to our conservative gatekeepers.

Winghunter, I glanced at your link. It is a nice resource, but who does that leave us to vote for? Personally, I think they all have negatives, but McCain has more positives.

Cham - I realize you think Republicans won't improve the country. I want to know if Romney could not turn around a state, why should we trust him to run the country?
