Cathy's departure will reduce the already low level of ideological diversity on the Boston Globe Op Ed page. When the Globe was forced to lay off a columnist, they discarded 1 of their 2 non-liberals.
Things will change when babyboomers find themselves forced to work up to day they die; until then nothing will alter the ideological mindset that 'having it all' means 'party hardy without paying a price.'
I feel sorry for everyone born during the last twenty years because contrary to Ms. Betty, children are not the parasites, we babyboomers are.
I am the last of the babyboomers who was discouraged not to have children when it was fashionably insisted to instead have careers. Well, in the end careers don't care for old people who are naturally frail and in need of human compassion. When babyboomers reach the golden old age days we will ultimately be the parasite upon the young.
One of the commenters made the point that it's not wise to label all feminists feminazis. It's true - many of the women I've worked with over the years considered themselves feminists to various degrees, but none even remotely fit the stereotype of shrieking, lesbian man-hater.
Unfortunately, for all the good the movement has done women over the years, it has also done harm to men and the family. I think this is largely due to the dominance of radicals since the 1960s. Like many other fields, feminism led by radical intellectuals rather than decent, practical people has mutated into something bizarre and malignant. Don't ask me why - "radical chic," I guess.
I, too, would like to hear Dr. Helen's thoughts on the article.
In response to where I'm going next: I'm still writing a monthly column for Reason. I will also be looking into a variety of options for my monthly column. Stay tuned! (to my website/blog)
I look forward to seeing more of your work wherever you go and I always appreciate your Reason columns. Keep up the good fight for fathers and thanks for all that you do.
not all children look after their parents, i have seen horror stories, people who dont see anyone apart from meals on wheels, and they have family and kids and grandkids, they are left to rot and die. how hard is it for a adult to sit with a parent for an hour. one hour out of your week, but a lot dont care.

Where is she going to be writing next? She's not a voice I want to fall silent, and I think she's not the type to do so.
I'm already a parasite.
