Adults who refuse to be adults give birth to feral youth.
I accidentally came across this video of a boy slapping his mother on Dr. Phil the other day. Reminded me of several kids I know. Even though my son is now bigger and stronger than me, he knows better and respects me. I'd have a hard time not kicking the kid in the video's butt.

That boy obviously doesn't have a father in his life. He may have a sperm donor in his life (probably due to the mother's behavior), but a normal father would have dented that kid's backside in a solid quarter inch with his belt for slapping his mother across the face.
And for those who say spanking doesn't work, I present my family's cats as species-independent evidence that it does work. Everyone who's met them comments on how social and well-behaved they are compared to normal house cats which are never disciplined.
One would think that poor discipline, bad teaching methods, and teachers who are afraid of (or simply don't want to) teaching would hurt girls too. Yet, girls are apparently learning in English schools. Are teachers simply ignoring the boys entirely and only teaching the girls?
randian, in my school district that's exactly what they do. In the UK, they actively subvert boys. Read this:

My brother went to school in Leeds in the late 90's and I remember him telling the me that there was a huge police drug raid at the tenements right off campus.
In response to the drug raid the residents rioted and burned down their flats. Which the government then had to rebuild at huge expense.
That story gives me pause whenever I hear a snobby Englishman making fun of Americans.

Maybe, I don't know. I do know that boys learn poorly in the "industrial" school system where girls excel. Boys are more hands on in learning and are schools are not designed to teach that way. And its more expensive.
