The internet is providing more Americans with information than ever before, according to this Rasmussen poll:
Despite 40% of the Rasmussen sample saying that broadcast news is the most reliable source, 67% of Americans feel that they are better informed now than they were 10 years ago. This has to be in part because of the internet. The internet, for all its flaws, allows more transparency than any of our politicians (and sometimes television news sources) ever has.
Forty-four percent (44%) of all adults say the Internet is the best way to get news and information. Television comes in second, with 36% who still turn to the tube. Print newspapers are a distant third with just 11% who view them as the best source for news and information. Only nine percent (9%) still rely on radio.
Although more people turn to the Internet, they're less sure about the quality of the information they find there. Only 29% say the Internet is the most reliable source of credible news information. The plurality (40%) says broadcast news is the most reliable source. Twenty-one percent (21%) view newspaper that way.

Broadcast news, Internet, and print media are all *technologies*. The idea of evaluating the credibility of an information source according to the technology used to deliver it really doesn't make much sense.
Imagine someone saying in 1900: "OUR newspaper is still typeset by hand, so you can trust it...not like those Linotype-set newspapers the publish so much misinformation."
After Charlie Sheen made his "inside job" rant, they polled the country and found that 36% of America also thinks 9/11 was a US government project.
Until I see numbers like 94% or 99.8%...I no longer give a crap what America thinks. At least a third of this country is tunneling at rocket speed to the core of Planet Stupid. The second third is not terribly impressive, and I think the last third is still at the bar.

until the medium it`s self stops becoming the message, we will always be criticising the content uncritically.
c`mon people, trying to convince me that your liar is more credible than "mine" seems silly...
i can get internet on my new phone but that doesn`t mean that any of the sites are more truthful than the same site viewed on my desktop at home.

masculinity is about how a man sees himself and how others respond to him.
if a man is applauded for doing the dishes and wearing a pink shirt, and dissed for lifting weights and exhibiting dominant behaviour, his will adapt or withdraw.
now, there is nothing wrong with doing dishes,and i have a beautiful pink shirt i wear with a black jacket and jeans occasionally, but my wife appreciates the results of my workouts and my assertiveness turns her on....
and this turning her on thing gets women into conundrums about choosing a mate.

Is masculinity exclusively defined as how women perceive men?
I'm not sure men have a challenge in that arena because women do seem to be getting pregnant at rate enough to keep the species going. However, looking to the employment arena, if men keep insisting on limiting their educational options (see post above) and all the employment opportunities for unskilled labor either are moving overseas or being given to illegal immigrants willing to accept lousy working conditions and minimum wages, then it might benefit men to reexamine their definition of masculinity and let it expand beyond lifting weights and exhibiting dominant behavior.
