Blogger commenting problem

A number of you have emailed me or commented about blogger eating comments. No one here has done anything to "offend me" and I almost never delete comments unless I have warned the person several times or the comment is so hurtful or harmful to another commenter that I decide to delete it which is very, very rare. Sorry about the blogger problem. If you are trying to leave a comment, keep trying! Or at least rest assured that I am not moderating them. Hopefully, the blogger problem will be resolved soon.

Talk about a biased sample...anybody whose comments have been eaten aren't going to be able to comment on this thread! No wonder there are no comments.

:P

Helen. This happens from time to time with blogger. Sometimes the comments will show up later on.

Mike, that could be weird! The mind reels with the mischief that out of place comments could cause!

RE: Perhaps....

....Blogger has established a 'relationship' with Akismet?

If someone complains about you, your name is 'mud' on scores of boards.

That would explain why a comment I left on your post about why women were serving less of their (in context of Lindsey Lohan)jail sentences never did show up.

The gist was that LA County is, I believe, under court order to keep overcrowding to a minimum and one way they do it is early release of inmates. There are fewer facilities for females so chances are they will fill up before men's facilities and so inmates are released earlier. So while the system is biased against men in alot of instances, there may be an alternative explanation there.

My own Blogger site has been acting up. One commenter apologized in case he had double-posted, which was not the case. My own replies to him received error messages, and then appeared on the site anyway. Other Blogger sites have had comments disappear, including comments that I had left (I was ready to be indignant), and I saw that others were complaining. Some of the comments appeared later.

Alternative explanation: The Googles are fiddling with the gears in Blogger.

I think it's not just comments. I've been having problems at my blog with blogger either randomly re-arranging the paragraph order of my posts or just eating half of the post altogether. I've taken to doing a cut/paste of each and every post to a Word doc to make sure I don't lose it after I click "Publish Post." It is really a pain.

I'm also wondering if it's some of their modifications. They have a new editing format which gets squirrely, the old one has fewer features but seems more stable.

Quasimodo, do you have evidence that China is messing with them, or are you just playing a hunch?

Stormbringer, Quasi's going to have to get back to you on that.

Quasi, be careful of Stormbringer. He has a pun and he's not afraid to use it.

I have to type my password in at least twice, every time I post here. It has been like that for over a year. I have not been to my blogger page but a couple times in the past couple years, and they have changed something, although I can't put my finger on it having not viewed it on a regular basis, as I said.

When puns are outlawed, only outlaws will have puns.
