It's about time..
I just saw that The Road to Serfdom is #1 on Amazon (via Instapundit). Apparently, Glenn Beck was flogging it --but it's good to know that Hayek's work is being read by more people. I have two copies on my bookshelf next to my computer and refer to them all the time. If you haven't read it, do so.

I was at the library today to print something and there was some old guy at the counter yelling at the lady because the library didn't have a copy of it even though Glenn Beck was advertising it. It was disturbing and hilarious at the same time.

It's a classic, they should have it in the library. Good for the guy for yelling. I bet they have all of Toni Morrison's books.
Well, I looked up Toni Morrison and then went to my library's website and wouldn't you know it? The library does have all of Toni Morrison's books.
the cartoon version is probably easier for most people to read and understand. Hayek was not a lightweight writer.

...oh, the book is great. It is just that thinking about the chapter 'How the Worst Get on Top', to this day, gives me the chills.
Just finished the audiobook. I think I'm going to have to buy a print copy so I can mark good quotes.
It's not that hard to read, unless one is unaccustomed to reading.
It doesn't surprise me that libraries don't have it. Librarians are generally liberals (who else would believe that children should be given sex manuals if they wish or terrorists should be given bomb making manuals). They tend to have near complete control over what they buy for the library, despite the fact they're publicly funded. They get really upset if you suggest that the tax payers who pay for their entire budget should have some say in what is on the shelf.
I'm a civil engineer, and I wish I was given the authority to decide where I built roads, without input from the public. Or the military, man I bet their job would be easier if they didn't have to follow the directions of the civilian authority. ;)
Glenn Beck should read "Why I Am Not A Conservative", also by Hayek.
