Good advice

John Hawkins: "To hell with civility, to hell with politeness, and to hell with the hand wringing over whether we're going to lose some kind of moral authority if we're only three times better, fairer, and more moral people than the Democrats rather than four times better."

I didn't know whether to laugh or get angry, when I heard Obama call OTHER people liars.

It was mentioned at Instapundit about British Parliament debate. I've watched it on C-Span. Laughter, booing, hissing, cat calls, and more. It's very entertaining We need more of this.

"The right honorable gentleman is a complete fool, a liar and a bastard!"

It's entertaining to watch, anyway.

Republicans long ago forgot the difference between taking the high road and being a doormat. Democrats never had much interest in either position.

Damn straight! The only thing Joe Wilson should apologize for is not bringing his rifle to the proceedings. It makes me proud to have been raised a South Carolinian. Wouldn't it be great if the entire Republican Party got replaced in the primaries by Joe Wilsons, and then congress got replaced by Republicans, and then the president....

GOD! I've had it with the weenies that have infested our country! I've had it with all this passive-aggressive bullshit that goes on in the world. Will it ever end? Probably not in our lifetimes.....

RE: Heh

As the old saying goes....

What goes around, comes around.

The 'progressives' made their cases in the past 8 years with obstreperous incivility.

Now that they laid the ground-rules, they resent getting their own back. Typical 'progressive' hypocrisy. Indeed. It is blatantly obvious in my own local newspaper. To the point that they've published a veiled threat against the blog-posts I've made calling them out over the last month.

So be it....

....let the 'games' begin.

On the other hand, I suspect the 'progressives' will escalate the 'game' by becoming even MORE 'incivil' in order to achieve their objective. In other words, more violent.

This will be a serious mistake on their part, as most of US on the other side of this business are much more oriented towards the effective application of 'violence'.

What was it I saw on the BlogFather's site the other day? Over 1 million more weapons were purchased by individuals in the month of August?

I suspect they were purchased by conservatives rather than 'liberals'. Additionally, many more 'conservatives' have served in the Armed Forces of the United States than I suspect 'liberals'....let alone 'progressives'.

Chuck(le)

There's a gray zone around this, which it would be unwise to cross.

Criticize all you like. Give accurate coloration to others' deceits, by all means. Even if it means being tarred as "uncivil," it's a moral obligation to speak out when you know someone is bearing false witness -- that is, lying in an attempt to harm you or your neighbor.

Just don't lie in your turn.

Stick to what you know. Never assert knowledge you can't substantiate. And never, ever respond to scurrilities by persons "offended" by being called what they are.

That should be sufficient.

When the speaker is so discourteous as to lie to your face, there is no reason not to return the favor and call him on it. We should be sure that we know where we stand when we do such a thing, but then we should speak out plainly and with confidence. It has a truly salutary effect for all involved.

"After a month of seeing Republicans called brownshirts, mobs, un-American, and thugs for daring to speak out against this health care plan"

And lets not forget, it was the President himself who urged his followers to "get in their face" and "punch back twice as hard". The result was racist-SEUI goons and MoveOn troops beating down Americans and biting off American fingers.

The President is fond of visiting totalitarian regimes, hoping to curry favor by apologizing for Americans on our behalf... without our permission.

When will the President apologize for inciting his followers to target Americans?

Mr President? Why not nip this in the bud. Its beginning to resemble the makings of Thought Police and SS Brownshirts of totalitarian societies. And your reliance on Alinksy is a bad sign. Your indulgence in Che-like symbolism and verbal imagery is another. Trusted friends we've liberated from totalitarian regimes are quick to point to similar patterns. Any rational defender of Liberty would beware.

So prove us wrong. Your followers are now agitating over Wilson "calling you out" as a liar (another challenge you issued to your followers). Apologize to Americans for instigating the recent violence, promise to measure your words more carefully. And order your activist squads to stand down.

Semper Fidelis

Post: your followers are now using Twitter to threaten Wilson's children. I hope you have the FBI on top of this.

I like the way he thinks. To hell with worrying over civility while the Democrats throw tantrums and scream to the heavens any time they don't get their way. They said it was a war back in the '60s. They damn well meant it. Let's treat it as one.
