I was horrified to read at Ace of Spades about two villages of women in Papua New Guinea who have killed all male babies to keep them from waging war:

I doubt they would be sympathetic at all. But the commenters to the Daily Mail article that discussed the story certainly had sympathy for these female infant killers. One has to wonder about what kind of twisted morality commenters like the following must possess to write the following:

The report sympathetically portrays these women as desperate hut wives who, faced with tribal extinction, are forced to take extreme measures in order to survive. One wonders how sympathetic the writers of this story would be if the men of the tribe killed all of the female babies to prevent them from growing up and committing male infanticide.

Stop judging these people with Western ethics. The commenters here have no idea how these people live and deal with life. I've lived with New Guineans and their minds do not work in the same way as Westerners. Overall they are gentle people and things must have got pretty bad for the womenfolk to kill their own children. In their minds it was the only way to save the village. Save your disgust for the baby killers in this country who should know better.
In any conflict, it's always the women and children who suffer through no doing of their own. And when everything has been ruined, and the men killed, they have to pick up the pieces and restore everything. They must have really had enough to kill their own children like that.
How horrendous that these women so no other option but to kill there own babies to prevent heartache in the future,its a lose lose situation for them.

One immediately notes the virtually universal response from women to female violence directed at males-- we must "understand " ( eg, excuse it) because the woman/women are compelled to do it by the males themselves and thus the women are not responsible for their actions.
Virtually all women respond to any allegation of female on male violence as prima facie justified as in " He must have done something to MAKE her kill/mutiliate/assault him ". Hence, it is virtually impossible to get any jury composed of at least several women to convict any woman for murdering any man under virtually any circumstances. The murdered man is assumed to deserve being murdered if a woman killed him , as in the classic response to the Winkler murder " THAT HE WAS WAS AN EVIL MAN IS PROVED BY THE FACT THAT SHE KILLED HIM."
Women virtually always excuse/justify/minimize/rationalize female on male violence as justified.... because ALL women are good people ALL the time and if they APPEAR to have done something bad, something must have made them do it-- its only men who do bad things voluntarily. An endless number of rationalizatios will follow that are almost incredibly absurd empirically and morally.
One should also note that female infanticide was ( is ?) countenanced by China to curtail their population. Female infanticide was/is (?) practiced on a nation-wide scale there.
Amazons in real life. They will still be rival tribes, except without men. Eventually, the women will pick up bows and arrows of their own.
What do they do, keep a few around as studs?
So am I supposed to take the "natural love" mothers have for their sons, the "love of men", or the rational thought displayed in this article as being hopeful for the future.
I really do think most women hate men with a burning passion. And I think most women resent the fact that they're attracted to men.

Well, I don't think most women hate men. I think most women hate that they are not men, because of some ill-formed perception of privilege falsely attributed to men.
But the vast majority of modern women are way out of whack anyway, however they got nothing on these hut wives. I wonder how the fathers of these unfortunate boys feel about the indiscriminate slaughter of their sons. One would think not too happy about it.

Helen - I believe the point of the sympathizer you highlighted is that the New Guinean rationalization for survival of their village is morally no different than rationalization for abortion in this country.
If the basis for moral judgement against the New Guinean women is the taking of life, then how is that different than killing the pre-born who are scientifically verifiable as growing living human beings?
Many believe Western ethics are morally superior, but that's self-deception, not only on an individual basis, but nationally, and hemispherically as well. Many hide behind the circular logic of Roe, and the nonsense of Doe, including Glenn.

Its more accurate to refer to the latter half of the twentieth century and so far in to the 21st century as a " Massacre of the Males", with men not even firing a shot in their own defense, much less mounting an assault of their own to return the fire.

As the female Tennessee attorney got off for murdering her husband-- women can kill men with virtual impunity: if women are on the jury, no set of facts will result in a conviction for murder. One sees the same dynamic in the 8-year old boy who murdered his father and his father's friend. He must have been abused, every female commentator announced, presumptively. His father must have deserved it. The reason that the US has such a poor infant mortality rate is because of the horrible mother's age of first child statistics. The hospital care is available in abundance, sadly, the stupidity to get pregnant at 12 through 18 is also there. It is the stupidity that causes these deaths.

I cannot agree on a whole with the above. Am sure you would agree not ALL women are like that, as with NOT ALL men are bad either. I do agree too many women excuse bad behavior on the mere fact of being female, they want their cake and to eat it too. Women need to be held as accountable as men do, and there should be equal punishments meted out, not just namby pamby slap on the wrist that women seem to get compared to men for the same activities/crimes.

A man kidnaps a juvenile girl and he is immediately characterized as a "sexual predator".. a woman absconds to Mexico with a boy-- and claims the boy forced her to drive to Mexico and initiated the 'relationship"-- and these women are typically described as having a "relationship" , as if the boy could give mature consent... One notes that the blond-bombshell- wannabe who molested a boy, also appeared on TV, claiming she had bi-polar disorder. When was the last time you saw a pedophile on national TV, pleading his case that he is actually a victim. Only women are indulged this nonsense.
No rapist is allowed to ask us to 'understand" and no one inquires into the "root causes " of his behavior-- or is suffered to claim he was "forced" to rape because the victim provoked him. Women are NEVER to blame for their victimization-- men are always to blame for their victimization.
Lastly when men murder their wives, the headline is typically factual and not conclusory as in " Man Kills Wife " with women its " Woman kills Cheating Husband", an excuse for the murder is actually imbedded in a factual report!

I call hoax on this story.
I have some doubts that this is authentic. It seems hard to believe that anyone outside of academia could be so detached from reality.
If this is real, this behavior is delightfully self-limiting. As a few others have pointed out, in 20 years or so these women will all have been killed or enslaved for lack of male defenders.

Do you have any training in or meaningful experience with controlled and deliberate violence?
Do you know how to use a gun, another weapon, or any martial arts?
Do you consider yourself a default unpaid bodyguard for any men around you in general?
Do you have the mindset that in the event of an emergency, your life is worth less than that of anyone around you in danger?
In short, do you, like the average man, fundamentally value yourself less than you do those around you, and define your human identity to a significant degree through your ability to provide and sacrifice for others?
Does that help you figure it out?

Acksiom, I can answer "yes" to most of the questions. I thought Target was heading off in the direction of financial support. And yes I can see that the 2 subjects are related.
(I highly recommend a week or 2 of handgun self-defense training in South Texas in July for any woman who does not appreciate men.)

I was not offended by Target's post, just curious about his thoughts. I am interested in the economic aspects of revolutionary politics and thought he might be heading in that direction. It is important to find the basis for much of the current popularity of feminism if we hope to do anything besides bitch and moan.
We don't help the situation by assigning thoughts and motives that do not exist.
