Rudy's My Man!

So, if you're bored today and want to take yet another quiz, how about the Ultimate 2008 Presidential Matcher? Here are my results:

Ultimate 2008 Presidential Candidate Matcher
Your Result: Rudy Guiliani

The former New York City mayor emphasizes his tough foreign policy stance. His primary issue is national security, and would continue to pursue Bush's war on terrorism. Guiliani is liberal on social issues, favoring civil unions for gays and abortion rights. He is more conservative on tax policy, healthcare, and social security. He wants to expand nuclear energy to reduce dependence on fossil fuels.

John McCain

Mitt Romney

Ron Paul

Hillary Clinton

Barack Obama

John Edwards

Dennis Kucinich

Mitt was my #1

but as always, I have misgivings on how questions were posed. IE the embyonic stem-cell question ... I don't oppose it on moral grounds, I oppose it because the Feds don't have any business funding it.

This is that result I got.

My top match is Mitt Romney: "Mitt Romney was the governor of Massachusetts, where he was known as a centrist. He reformed the state healthcare system, and would pursue reforms at the national level as well. Romney supports oil drilling in Alaska, but also alternative energy sources. He claims to be conservative on issues like abortion and gay civil unions, and he supports the Iraq war. Romney supports fair trade, as well as a greater focus on math and science in our schools." I took another quiz and the top choice was Fred Thompson. Of course, you're never sure on these quizzes how accurate they are of the candidates' positions.

Darleen,

Yes, I had the same problem with that particular question. So none of us are Hillary fans, no big surprise there.

Fred Thompson was left out of the choices so I saw no reason to take it.

Guiliani/Romney/McCain which is probably not too far off how I feel.

Some of the questions definitely showed a certain bias - the global warming one basically equates it to environmentalism. You can be pro environment or wanting to save energy for strategic reasons without buying into global warming hysteria.

This is funny Helen. I took the quiz and was told I was a match to Romney. Imagine their suprise when I vote for Thompson!

I oppose embryonic stem cell research because it's a waste of money. It hasn't produced squat. By comparison, adult stem cell research has produced several promising therapies.

Rudy is my number one also.

This makes three differenct quizes I've taken with three different results, Duncan Hunter on the first, then Mike Huckabee and now Rudy.

Am I fickle or are these quizes baloney?

Interesting. As is always the case, several of the questions offered no choice even approximating my views. Then it matched me to Mitt Romney, who I dislike quite a bit.

Not the best quiz I've ever seen.

cham, not trying to start a string of argument, and I have read enough of your posts to believe you are sincere in what you write. So I am asking sincerely, of all available candidates on the Democrat side, why do you choose Hillary?

The embyonic stem-cell question may well be moot because of recent advances using human skin cells. Of course, this won't keep people from arguing about where you stood on the issue.

1. Mitt
2. Paul
3. Rudy
4. McCain

Most of the above is ridiculous for me. Fred is my man and Rudy is my #2.

ALL these quizzes are bad. The Polling Point one also doesn't list Fred and kept making me choose between McCain and various Dems. I'd rather shoot myself.

dadvocate, you will stop reading and hearing about liberals' concern about curing diseases once embryonic stem cells are not an issue. They don't care about curing disease; they care about splitting conservatives and pitting the fiscals and socials against each other.

I have a problem with abortion but I have a real big problem with government funding just about anything other than the military these days. Government is incapable of doing virtually anything right or well.

Dadvocate, I say you're flaky. :) I didn't notice that Fred Thompson wasn't involved, but I guess that's why I didn't score him!

Peg, I'm surprised it put Paul between Romney and Giuliani, I would expect him to be far away from any of the Republicans.

I took one of these things in 2000. Apparently, I was supposed to vote for a Mr. Howard Phillips of something called the Constitution Party. This was my first indication that I might be a kook. :)

What really made me laugh was that Al Gore placed dead last. Below NADER, even. Yike.
