Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard that is--of Hewlett and Packard fame. Today, Michael S. Malone, one of America’s most distinguished technology journalists and web columnist for ABC News talks to us about his new book, Bill & Dave: How Hewlett and Packard Built the World's Greatest Company.
He talks about HP as Silicon Valley's first big company that started in a garage, about the old-fashioned values that Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard applied to the company's growth, and about what happened when the "HP Way" met the 1990's dot-com boom. Warning - anti-sales pitch.
HP has had a laptop that I bought last summer for 38 days now this time. I talk to the company about every other day, and am invariably promised a call back the next day by a case manager, yet have not had one such call back.
Don't buy HP products.
Their service stinks. I say this as someone who currently has three HP computers, three HP printers, a HP scanner, three HP calculators, and first used a HP computer 36 years ago.
As a former HP employee, I am pleased that this book has been written to give credit where credit is due. Bill and Dave were the heart of the company. Carly Fiorini tried to rip the heart out. May she rot in *** for doing so.
