I have been watching the Democratic convention and laughing my ass off, frankly at some of the hilarity. For example, seeing the look of disdain and disgust on some of the faces of the interviewees of Fox News reporters is worth a laugh all by itself. I saw one woman who (I think) said she worked with Michelle Obama--she was irate with the Fox News interviewer for even asking questions. She kept mentioning that he was "taking things out of context as their opponents, the Republicans often did." She was obviously very much on the defensive and seemed downright hostile. Many of the other Democratic interviewees were defensive and seemed openly antagonistic towards Fox News.
Protesters, including a far left group run by none other than Ward Churchhill , (the professor who believed the victims of 9/11 were involved in provoking the attack and was later fired for research misconduct), were such intellectual giants that all they could do when asked what their message was by Fox News reporter, Griff Jenkins, was chant: "Fuck Fox News." Yes, that will really persuade people. Here is the video, for those of you who would like to see some visuals:
Democrats and those on the left are so used to getting away with saying anything in the media, that they are just plain angry that in this election, it's not working as well. Thank goodness that Fox News and the alternative media are there to cover other views, not just the one the left wants people to hear.
I wouldn't expect less from Chruchill and his ilk.

ReplyDeleteWas it just a poor quality video, or were a lot of their faces blurred out? I'm sure their children would be so proud to have friends ask "was that your Dad on TV yelling 'F**k Fox News?'"
I'm not really a Fox News person, as I think their coverage is every bit as superficial as the other major networks, but still I think it shows the extent to which the liberal mindset has degenerated into groupthink. The slightest deviation from the "approved script" has earned them the undying enmity of the left.
ReplyDeleteFox News is not even that conservative. Certainly an actual conservative/strict constitutional agenda would be far more hostile toward their sacred cows. They just aren't unabashedly pro-left like the other major networks.

ReplyDeleteI remember reading some research somewhere that showed Fox News to be just slightly to the right. It actually turned to be the most fair and balanced as many of the other networks leaned so heavily left. I agree that this video just shows the extent of how much the left hates free speech if one does not toe the party line. When I hear people talking about how they want to "shut down Fox News," I ask why. Often, there is no answer or explanation. They have just heard how horrible it is that they just repeat it.
I think leftists hate it because they actually put a camera in Democrat's faces and ask questions about what they are saying. They are not used to being questioned and become defensive and furious. I think the anger is that they no longer have a monopoly on the media any more and they know it.
Don't forget, this is the same crowd that thinks the New York Times is a middle of the road paper (just like Dan Rather.)
ReplyDeleteThe thinking doesn't stop at the borders either. I once had a friend from Southeast Asia who thought CNN was jingoistic and that MSNBC was a hyper-conservative, pro-Bush network. Yes, really. Rather than trying to understand what kind of depraved mind could think like this, I either just laugh at people like that or beat the snot out of them when I'm in a bad mood. Usually the later. =D
What's fun is to ask for specific instances of bias at Fox whenever I hear some fool go off on it.

The left is the most closed minded, chronically angry group in our country. I was explaining this to my son the other day when he asked me, "Don't these people read newspapers or watch the news, etc."
ReplyDeleteThey are "informed" but everything is interpreted to support what they already believe. I told him how the liberals in my family read magazines, newspapers, books, watch TV news, and more. They are very well informed. But, it's never made a difference in how they voted. For instance, my parents never voted for anyone but a Democrat for national office.
I remember my mother proclaiming all the news reports about Ray Blanton being crooked were just made up. He eventually went to federal prison. But he got her vote because he had a "(D)" after his name.
Being objective and detached on the issues is important. It's pituful that so few seem to be able to do so.

ReplyDeleteMore and more, I've come to believe that most people do not truly hold any political beliefs. Instead, they hold emotions, which they use as battering rams on whatever issues happen to be in front of them at the moment.
This is why atheists can exhibit such hatred for God, when logic would tell you that, if God doesn't exist, what exactly are you hating. Or anti-abortionists who feel it's OK-fine to gun down doctors.
The few times I've seriously talked to people who opposed the war, I've found that they really didn't know anything about the war, apart from the bulleted items (Oil! Abu Grabib! BushHitler!).
So I don't think anyone knows anything about anything, except whatever's churning their gut at the moment. Which means the GOP convention will probably be just as depressing to watch.
My wife thought many of the delegates looked like homeless people. They were a motley lot including all the teachers and their leader, Reg Weaver.

This segment was designed especially for FOX News' audience. "EVEN before the convention kicks off, "FAR Left" groups are rallying in Denver. I didn't know the Green Party was "far" Left but okay. Now listen to what is said. "Got a little heated when you were in that crowd..." So he had already been in an incident. Then he says "We got ahead of this marching thing...I don't know how rowdy it's going to be." So it's a set up. They are "making" news. These protesters are coming across this idiot again, and they are saying "Fuck Fox News." What if Limbaugh walked out and said "HEY GUYS!!! HOW ARE YOU TODAY?!?!?" Should they say "Hey Rush. Thanks for stopping buy?" Also, do you think these protesters are chanting Fuck Fox News continuously throughout the march or only for the 15 seconds as they walk by Fox News? I should have said they didn't act inappropriately. It would have been cool if someone walked up and said "Oh great. Let me explain our position here. And then the "reporter" would say "Okay, let's find a nice spot in the shade and get to the bottom of this. You have 5 seconds." Even if someone did have something extensive to say, they were already preppared for a cut away.

ReplyDeleteI do not understand the left. I have seriously tried. The processes by which the American left thinks, and the way they believe, and wish things to be, can only happen in an atmosphere where others - who may not believe as they do - yet allow them to be as they wish.
I know there is no way I could convince someone that far in that direction to see things as I do. And I cannot see as they do. For their wants and beliefs to come to the top, and become this nation's ways, will require my capitulation, as well as that of many millions more. It ain't gonna happen. We live in interesting times.
